Academic Chess brings chess rules
and a bunch more to your school!
We are an organization solely devoted
to promoting chess among children. Using
songs, stories, and dances, we teach the
chess rules to your children in a fun and
exciting way. This wonderful learning experience
not only teaches children to play chess
now, but also prepares them for life later
by enhancing their critical thinking skills,
mental discipline, problem solving and self-esteem.
This ideal chess program for your school
begins with:
Free in-school chess
lessons
Our instructors come to your school for
three weeks to teach your entire student
body the basic rules of chess. Lessons include
piece movement, check and checkmate, and
special rules of chess.
and continues with:
After-school chess
After the in-school lessons, students
interested in learning more will have the
opportunity to join Academic Chess
After-school Program. We bring
our team of instructors, posters, chess
books, and years of experience to your campus
each week for this 1-2 hour chess club.
After-school chess is a low-cost fee-based
enrichment program.
In the after school program kids learn
chess strategies, chess openings, solve
chess diagrams and puzzles. A one hour chess
class would consists of 30 minutes
of chess lesson and 30 minutes of playing
time. Chess lessons are done on
a 2D chess board in front of the class.
Chess lessons are accompanied by worksheets
and workbooks filled with chess games and
chess problems. Many prizes are
given out for many different reasons.
| Although
Academic Chess
has what it takes to teach all the
way to master level, in our after
school chess program we try to make
chess as fun as possible, and give
the kids the tools they will need
to study chess on their own. Since
no organization can claim to make
a chess master in just one hour
a weeks, we instead emphasize the
fun over the competitive elements
and try to get our kids excited
about chess and its strategies,
so that they can put the time on
their own into mastering chess. |
